We were really excited to announce the launch of our new Animal Friendship Bracelets last Thursday, and we are thrilled to be able to introduce yet another fabulous product range to our ever popular Mari collection.

Each luxurious braided leather bangle comes in a range of bright colour combinations, right on trend for SS12, a sterling silver Mari motif and clasp available in three finishes, completed with a unique SHO tag.

The colour combinations are:
-silver with either black or light blue leather;
-silver vermeil with red or yellow leather

For our new range of animal friendship bracelets we have chosen animals that live in some of the habitats that the World Land Trust is working to protect. We are going to introduce you to each new animal, one at a time. This week, we'd like you to meet our first new animal; the Manatee!

The World Land Trust have been working with their partners in Guatemala to preserve and manage the Laguna Grande Reserve. The reserve is a system of lagoons and tropical rainforest in the Rio Sarstún watershed, near the border with Belize. This area forms an important habitat for a wide range of species, and in particular, the West Indian Manatee (Trichechus manatus).

Featuring a sterling silver Manatee charm with a Swarovski crystal eye, finished with pale blue silk cord and pearls, our bracelet is the stylish way to show your support for the work of the World Land Trust, and a beautiful gift. We love a bit of Cover Drive on the stereo in the SHO office, and are great admirers of lead singer Amanda Reifer's look! The new bracelets feature four animals from a range of the diverse habitats that World Land Trust is working to save; a Jaguar, a Manatee, a Bear and a Hummingbird.

Over the coming weeks we will be introducing each new  'animal' and the habitat it represents, but you don't have to wait until then to have a look at the new bracelets as they are already online and available on our website.

It's been a really busy couple of weeks for SHO! First we had Caroline Flack showing off a Mari Splash Boule ring in You Magazine and next we had Professional Jeweller Magazine publish the shoot with stylist Darren Knight that we mentioned in our post back in February. So we hope you were all tuned in to the Soap Awards last night to see Michelle Keegan receive her award for 'Sexiest Female', wearing SHO Jewellery nonetheless!

Michelle picked up the award for the fourth year in a row, wearing a rather gorgeous full length deep blue gown. She teamed it with our lovely Mari Splash fringe earrings with blue topaz, our Mari Splash ring and Mari Splash cuff, all in sterling silver. Michelle completed her look with our SHO classic Clementina ring with black agate.

Congratulations Michelle...looking as good as she does here, we don't think anyone else will be in with a chance of winning Michelle's award in a good while!

After the miserable weather here in London, we were rather jealous to see Tess Daly out and about in sunny L.A. However, we were soon cheered by SHO fan Tess looking every part the show-stopper in a yellow dress and our very own Crop Circle Hoops!

It's nearly the weekend again, and we thought we'd share another story about one of our regular SHO fans, Caroline Flack.

This time Caroline featured in the April 8th issue of You magazine, including a rather lovely cover shot in which she can be seen proudly sporting a SHO Mari Splash boule ring. After wearing our Clementina ring in Aventurine to both the Brit Awards and London Fashion Week, we are honoured she chose from our ever popular Mari collection.

Place Vendôme as seen by SHO Jewellery

Last weekend SHO decided to up sticks and head off on some travels. And with almost the entire fashion and accessories industry in Paris for Fashion Week, there seemed to be no better time to hop on the Eurostar and under the Channel for some jewellery related exploration...

First stop is Place Vendôme is named after César, Duc de Vendôme who originally had his manor here during the 17th Century. At various points in history, this romantic cobbled square has been home to composer Frédéric Chopin at number 12, at number 16 Franz Mesmer, the German discoverer of Animal Magnetism whose name is the origin of the verb 'mesmerize', and legendary designer Coco Chanel. Chanel lived in an apartment at number 15, now the Hotel Ritz Paris, which itself has featured in famous works of fiction such as Ernest Hemingway's 'The Sun Also Rises' and earned a place in cinematic history through Billy Wilder's 1957 comedy 'Love in the Afternoon' featuring Audrey Hepburn. Napoleon III himself was a frequent visitor to the square with his mistress, the Countess di Castiglione, inhabiting an apartment at number 26 from the 1870's to the 1890's. Indeed the world's first ever shirtmakers shop, the historic Charvet, opened it's doors at number 25 in 1877 and still operates from number 8 at present.

With such a rich history, It is then perhaps fitting that Place Vendôme today is home to the world's finest jewellers. SHO paid a visit to both Boucheron and Cartier on our visit, but no jewellery trip to Paris should be without a look at the store of our favourite jeweller, the cult designer JAR, who also has a base on the square. Some of the mysterious shop fronts give little away at first, adding to the very exclusive allure, of this, most atmospheric of addresses.

Unsuprisingly, the Vendôme Luxury Tradeshow is held next to the square during each installment of Paris Fashion Week, and showcases the best of the high end fashion, accessories and lifestyle brands. SHO paid a visit and loved the variety of what was on offer. Our favourite find was a gold plated Solex bike in which all 14,000 parts had been dismantled, cleaned and stripped, then gilded in gold by master plater Michel Gaillard.

We love Paris for new fashion discoveries and were not disappointed on this trip as Sarah fell in love with Manoush, a French brand with gorgeous prints and an Indian influence to it's feminine detailing on dresses and separates. Currently there is no Manoush store in London so if you want to check out the collections in the flesh you'll have to make it to Paris or Manchester!

A visit to an authentic Parisian pâtisserie should be on the list of priorities for all visitors to Paris, and on this trip we found Japanese themed Toraya.... in fact the cakes look good enough to be worn themselves, like an edible version of SHO's Origami collection!

After an exhilarating and inspirational weekend, it was exciting to go back and share some of the new ideas we had with the rest of the office. We are very glad our office is not on the right hand side of the building below....Paris, we'll be back!
