The delicate, charming, colorful and elegant peony is honored as the national flower of China. It is the "the king of flowers" and "the flower of wealth". This work of art combines unique, beautiful lines, shiny diamonds, and simple but excellent paper-cutting to create an elegant peony collar. The beautiful and exclusive peony will bring wealth to all people.
“I am honoured to have been involved with Kimberlite for this amazing project which will be part of a unique museum Kimberlite are planning in Shanghai. It has allowed me to create beautiful masterpieces that bring my Chinese heritage and love of modern design together and will be a part of history forever”. Sarah Ho.
The designs by Sarah Ho are inspired by the ‘fortune of blooming flowers’ with the peony, a traditional flower of China, said to bring wealth to all people. This suite combines elegant lines of the simple ancient art of paper cutting with the Chinese philosophy of yin and yang. The light and dark aspects are mirrored in diamonds and highly polished gold creating a clever composition of positive and negative floral blooms.
This work of art combines the elements of peony with the ancient and unique art form of window paper-cutting. Hollowed-out patterns, linking lines, bold cutting and clever composition together create beautiful and fragrant peonies. This work is exquisite and graceful, as in the verse "A peony is the only truly beautiful flower".
